Tiffany Dao - Contributing Artist
Tiffany Dao attends Virginia Tech where she is
studying 3D animation. Tiffany was always in love with writing and
drawing since her early childhood days and then graduated into video
games which seemed to combine both art and story with an additive of
player interaction. Being an avid gamer herself, she eventually wanted
to make her own.
Tiffany's art style deals more with the
fantastical, but in order to develop her own sense of fantasy, she must
first learn to develop her own sense of reality, which is done by the
series of realism works. She's focused more on capturing the sense of
weight and mass of an object, making a flat image appear as if it
weighed the same as the actual object. And then focusing on the anatomy
of an object in order to understand the structure of the more
fantastical beings. Learning the real can make the unreal seem more
believable. Above all techniques and styles, Tiffany's style tries to
capture a sense of story, even the slightest bit of narrative in her
pieces.

Tammy Dao - Contributing Artist
Tammy Dao also attends Virginia Tech's Bachelor of Fine Arts Program
with a concentration in Studio Art, more specifically 3D creative
technologies. As she was growing up, she spent much of her free time
writing fantasy stories and doodling characters of a fantastical
nature. Like her sister, she has a fondness for video games, blending
artistic style with narrative and plot, and hopes to one day make her
own.
As an artist, she considers herself capable in handling
any medium, but finds the pencil and 3D media, including sculpture and
3D computer modeling to be her forte. She focuses on realism in all of
her mediums as well as technique, and tries to incorporate meaning into
all of her pieces, but her 3D artwork generally aims to just be
realistic.
Growing up heavily influenced by fiction, film, TV,
and video games, her artistic style incorporates a sense of narrative
while creating an environment that is surreal yet believable at the
same time. Her direction in much of her pieces aims to evoke an emotion
within the viewer, and almost all of the characters featured in her
pieces has had some sort of history fleshed out in her mind.
